Australia vs Korea Women 31st May 2014

The 2nd game of the Women's Pool A saw Australia and Korea make their first appearances at the 2014 Rabobank Hockey World Cup. South Korea made a strong start and made it 1-0 in the 7th minute when Cheon Eunbi was found completely open in front of goal and finished with ease. It took only 5 mins for Australia to equal the score at 1-1 after some great skill and pass from Georgie Parker to Emily Hurtz who finished neatly. Australia then weathered 4 straight South Korea penalty corners to reach half time with the score tied. The second half had a more settled start, but Australia started to dominate and made it 2-1 when Anna Flanagan converted from a penalty corner. 12 minutes later, Australia was awarded a penalty stroke and Flanagan scored her 2nd of the game to extend the Hockeyroos' lead to 3-1. Cheon Seul Ki ensured it was a nervy finish for Australia by making it 3-2 with 7 minutes to go but Australia held on to secure their first win of the tournament.
