England vs Argentina - Women 8 June 2014

The second Women's game of Day 8 at the Rabo Bank Hockey World Cup 2014 was the match up between England and Argentina as 1st took on 6th in Group B. England opened the scoring with Alex Danson finishing a scrappy exchange after a penalty corner. Delfina Merino ensured the Lionesses were level going into the half time interval with an easy tap in at the back post. In a game short on penalty corners scoring opportunities in the second half were few and far between with both team defending well. In the very last play of the game, England successfully defended a penalty corner, but did not clear well, giving Carla Rebecchi a chance to snatch victory right at the end of the game, final score England 1 Argentina 2.
