Stakes were even higher too with the winners of the match going a long way to booking themselves an all-important place in the next round. A dream start for Australia saw them take the lead though in the opening 30 seconds of the half when England were caught napping and Matt Gohdes made them pay. De Young's second must have had England beginning to worry after he tapped in from Ciriello's saved penalty corner but nothing could have prepared England for what was about to follow. Dwyer tapped in a third before Govers scored a goal of the tournament candidate just on the half time whistle. England's misery didn't stop there though as three minutes after the restart as Zalewski made it 5 for Australia. The Kookaburras superiority was made further evident as they continued to press and look for the sixth but England had their goalkeeper to thank as he kept the Aussies at bay on a couple of occasion from penalty corners. But the damage had already had already been done and Australia maintained their unbeaten record, beating their great rivals in some style.
