4th Day of the Rabobank Hockey World Cup, and we see England taking on China, in the Women's Pool B game. 1st half, and both teams failed to create many strong chances as both teams were finding hard to break each other down. The first real chance came from England when a ball in the middle hit off the still of Qiuxla Cul, producing a double save from the Chinese keeper. Lilly Owsley came very close to put her nation 1-0 up when she made a good run into the D and after some scrambling in the box, got her shot away but was unlucky not to have scored when it hit the post. At the break it was still 0-0. However 2nd Half, it was Chana who started off brightly and grabbed the first goal of the game. Melyu Liang made a fantastic run into the D to pass to Yang Peng and her shot flew straight into the corner of the net. China were pretty strong from this point and when they were awarded a Penalty Corner, they made sure in taking their chance, Melyu Liang, the receiver, shot a low shot and some poor keeping and defending failed to keep the ball out. 2-0 down, England attempted to go for broke subbing off Keeper Maddie Hinch but China punished England and extended their lead, giving England no hope in getting back into the game, 3-0 to China it finished.
