"Winless Japan and Belgium faced each other in their last pool game of the 2014 Rabobank Women's Hockey World Cup. The match got off to a slow start with both teams failing to create many chances. Japan had the better chances but could not connect to passes into the circle to take the lead. Half time arrived with the teams tied at 0-0. The second half began more promisingly with Belgium going 1-0 ahead in the 37th minute with Emilie Sinia scoring through the legs of the Japanese keeper. Japan equalised seven minutes later with Ayaka Nishimura scoring an overhead volley from close range. Akane Shibata then bravely dived in to score Japan's second to put her nation 2-1 up in the 63rd minute. Four minutes later, Belgium were back level after a great finish from Manon Simons. The 2-2 draw ensured Japan finished above Belgium in the Pool A standings. Welcome to the FIH YouTube Channel where you can watch all the amazing skills, fearless keepers and incredible goals.
