"The last game of day 3 of the Rabobank Women's Hockey World Cup was a local derby between host nation Netherlands and Belgium. Cheered on by a huge crowd in the Kyocera Stadium, the Dutch team made a fast start to the game and Ellen Hoog scored a beautiful field goal in the 5th minute to put her nation ahead 1-0. After an early domination by the Netherlands, the Belgium team started to gain a foothold in the game, but the quality of the Dutch team shone through and Marloes Keetels made it 2-0 in the 29th minute. The tournament's number one ranked team went into the break with a two goal cushion. The Dutch made another fantastic start in the second half and Roos Drost raced clear into the D but her shot was saved easily. It didn't take long for the next goal as Maartje Paumen struck home a penalty stroke in the 44th minute to take the score to 3-0. The Netherlands were running rampant and Roos Drost finally got her goal to make it 4-0 five minutes later. Belgium came close to a consolation goal through Charlotte De Vos, but the Dutch girls comfortably saw out the rest of the game and recorded their second win of the tournament.
