South Africa vs New Zealand - Men 3 June 2014

The second round of matches in Pool B of the Rabobank Men's Hockey World Cup started with South Africa taking on rivals New Zealand. Subscribe here - http://bit.ly/12FcKAW It didn't take long for the first goal between these great sporting rivals as Simon Child skilfully controlled a high pass from Phil Burrows and slammed a shot past the keeper in the 4th minute. Captain Austin Smith then hit the crossbar from South Africa's first penalty corner of the game. New Zealand was even more successful from their first penalty corner and made it 2-0 through Andy Hayward in the 15th minute. Two minutes later, Hayward got his second of the game from another PC to put the Black Sticks up 3-0. South Africa almost replied immediately but Tim Drummond just missed with a diving one handed effort. The second half started at a slower pace and the first chance fell to New Zealand's Simon Child but his fierce shot was saved by the South African keeper with the help of his face mask. Shea McAleese, playing in his 200th game for New Zealand then scored from a penalty corner to take the score to 4-0. Minutes later, Andy Hayward grabbed his hat-trick from yet another PC to put the contest to bed at 5-0.
